Many women are not aware that preventing stretch marks is possible if some special care is taken during pregnancy .It is true that in more that 80% of pregnancy cases stretch marks cannot be avoided but you can definitely prevent stretch marks to a great extent if you start nourishing your body early .

  • Start massaging your abdominal area with cocoa butter regularly. It is one of the time tested methods to prevent as well as remove stretch marks.
  • Olive oil is also known to work wonders for preventing stretch marks. However make sure that you massage only with one kind of oil.
  • Diet is very important for minimizing stretch marks as well as your overall health. You must eat plenty of leafy vegetables. Food rich in vitamin E, A, and C are recommended for curing stretch marks. However care should be taken not to eat Vitamin A in excess quantity during pregnancy.
  • Drink plenty of water. It keeps your skin hydrated which is very important for maintaining the elasticity of skin.
  • Start using a good moisturizer from second trimester onwards. The more you keep your skin moisturized the less stretch marks will be formed.
  • Vitamin E capsules can be broken and the oil inside it can be used to apply on the belly. Vitamin E has remarkable anti oxidant capabilities which keep the skin from aging  and helps you prevent stretch marks

Though all of the above mentioned methods are effective in majority of cases, in certain conditions like some other medications these methods may not work properly .in such situations expert medical advice must be sought.  You can also try anti stretch marks creams and lotions which contain a lot of natural and herbal ingredients. These creams are known to be very effective and can be used externally which means there are no side effects whatsoever. Some of the manufacturers are also offering free trial offers.
