Fading stretch marks is a lot easier and effective than trying to get rid of it completely. In fact laser treatment also relies on fading stretch marks to a level that it is camouflaged by the surrounding skin and gives the impression of no marks at all. It is often an effective way to make stretch marks less visible.

Laser technique is used to remove the skin surrounding the affected area so that new skin may grow.  New skin is of natural color therefore does not appear to be any different. This is an invasive treatment therefore apart from being costly, also takes some time to heal.

A few other methods of fading stretch marks are also very popular with varied degree of results. Some of them are as follows.

Chemical Peels:  The basic idea behind this technique is to cover the affected area with some sticky substance which can peel off the layer of dead skin so that new skin can develop. The new skin that that grows later is of your natural skin color.

Microdermabrasion:  This technique also works on the same idea as that of chemical peels but the method of taking the outer layer of skin off the surface is somewhat different. A fine crystal spray is used to remove the outermost layer.

Light therapy: This technique is often used in acne treatment but can be very effective fading stretch marks as well. It is entirely dependent on the type and severity of stretch marks that can be removed with light therapy. A bit costly but definitely it is worth its price.

Apart from these methods some natural over the counter creams and lotions are also as effective therefore must be tried before going for costlier and lengthy procedures. As these creams can be used externally without prescription you can be rest assured that there will be no side effect. In case of no positive results you can discontinue it without any side effect or too much monetary loss.
